Using Talky
Talky is a desktop speech-to-text tool available for macOS and Windows.
The Free plan provides local transcription using Whisper, limited to English and 5,000 words per month.
The Pro plan ($6/month) provides cloud-based transcription, 15+ languages, AI text transformation, and unlimited words.
You must be at least 13 years old to create an account.
Accounts
You can sign up with email/password, Google, or GitHub.
You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
Pro Subscription
Pro is a monthly subscription billed through Polar.sh.
You can cancel anytime. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period.
Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis — contact us if you have concerns.
Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
Use Talky for any illegal purpose or to process illegal content.
Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or tamper with the app.
Abuse the service in ways that degrade performance for other users (e.g., automated bulk requests).
Share, resell, or redistribute your Pro subscription access.
Your Content
You retain full ownership of any text you create using Talky. We do not claim any rights to your transcriptions or transformed text. On the Free plan, all processing happens locally — your content never leaves your device.
Availability & Updates
We aim to keep Talky available and reliable, but we don't guarantee 100% uptime.
We may update the app, change features, or adjust pricing with reasonable notice.
The app checks for updates automatically (public build). You can also check manually.
Limitation of Liability
Talky is provided "as is" without warranty. We are not liable for any damages arising from your use of the app, including but not limited to data loss, service interruptions, or inaccurate transcriptions. Use the app at your own discretion.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of Talky after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
